About the Journal Focus and Scope The Journal of Physical and Life Sciences is a multidisciplinary peer-reviewed science journal published by the Graduate School of Science and Technology, Mid-West University (GSST-MU). It publishes original papers (manuscripts) on a wide range of scientific and technological subjects, including mathematics, botany, chemistry, computer science, environmental science, geology, physics, statistics, zoology, engineering, agriculture, and other related domains, are the focus of this publication. The journal aims to address various challenges in these fields by investigating current advancements in scientific and technology-related issues. Research papers intended for publication must include novel and previously unpublished material that adheres to recognized international standards. Publication Frequency This journal publishes at least one issue in a year. Open Access Policy JoPLS is an open-access journal, meaning all its content is available for free. Users can read, download, copy, share, print, search, or link to the full articles and use them for any legal purpose without needing permission from the publisher or the authors. CC BY-NC Articles in JoPLS are published under a Creative Commons Attribution NonCommercial 4.0 International Licence (CC BY-NC 4.0). This license enables reusers to distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the material in any medium or format for noncommercial purposes only, and only so long as attribution is given to the creator. Article Processing Charge JoPLS is free journal, there is no article processing charge. Plagiarism Check The manuscripts submitted to the JoPLS will be screened for plagiarism using iThenticate, provided by Turnitin. JoPLS accepts a similarity index of below 20%, excluding the bibliography. Copyright Policy Once accepted or published by JoPLS, the authors retain the copyright of their articles but grant the journal a licence to publish. JoPLS strictly prohibits the simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to multiple journals and adheres to scientific copyright policies. Authors must provide written confirmation that their manuscript is original and has not been submitted to or considered by any other journal during the review and publication process. Peer Review Policy The journal article review process follows these steps: 1. Submission The author submits their manuscript to the journal via an online system or by email to the editor-in-chief; 2. Initial Screening (Desk Review) and Plagiarism Check The editor-in-chief assesses the manuscript for originality, relevance, clarity, and adherence to submission guidelines. The editor-in-chief also checks whether the manuscript fits the journal’s scope and meets formatting guidelines. The manuscript submitted to theJoPLS will be screened for plagiarism using iThenticate, provided by Turnitin. JoPLS accepts a similarity index of below 20%, excluding the bibliography. If the manuscript does not meet basic requirements, it may be desk-rejected without peer review. 3. Peer Review If the manuscript passes the initial screening, it is sent to at least two expertreviewers in the field; JoPLS follow a double-blind review (both authors and reviewers remain anonymous). Reviewers assess the manuscript’s methodology, validity, contribution, and clarity, then provide feedback and recommendations. 4. Editorial Decision Based on reviewer comments, the editor makes a decision: Accept (rare on the first submission) Minor revisions (authors must address small issues) Major revisions (significant improvements required) Reject (either due to fundamental flaws or lack of fit with the journal) 5. Revision and Resubmission If revisions are requested, the author(s) revise their manuscript and submit a response letter explaining how they addressed reviewer comments; The manuscript may go through multiple rounds of review, if needed; 6. Final Acceptance and Publication Once the editor is satisfied, the manuscript is accepted for publication; The journal may conduct final proofreading and formatting procedures before publishing the article online and/or in print.
