About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Nepalese Respiratory Journal (NRJ) is a biannual, indexed, peer-reviewed, open-access, medical journal. NRJ serves as a forum for the respiratory researchers throughout the world and Nepal to present their research in a common platform. NRJ focuses on publishing well-conducted research in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. However, it is not limited to this alone and accepts all interesting work as an allied genre. NRJ accepts original articles, review articles, invited articles, case reports, interesting medical images, editorials, letters to the editor, NRS Guidelines and viewpoints. NRJ has been inaugurated on 27th July, 2021 on the occasion of the second anniversary of the Nepalese Respiratory Society and will continue to serve as a academic and publication wing of NRS.
Categories: Clinical research, clinical trials, case reports, case series, review articles, opinion, guidelines in relation to Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, Internal Medicine and allied subjects, Genetics, bio-molecular and translational studies, breath analyses and chemical-based studies in the field of respiratory medicine.
Audience: Respiratory physicians, Critical care physicians, Sleep specialists, Specialists of medical disciplines, Internists, Medical Faculty Members, Fellows, Residents and Researchers.
Publication Frequency
Nepalese Respiratory Journal is published twice a year in January and July.
Copyright
Copyright of articles is transfered to the Nepalese Respiratory Society.
Open Access Policy
NRJ provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Creative Commons Licence
The articles in NRJ are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
Peer-Review Process
Each manuscript will be analysed by the editorial group for quality, appropriateness and manuscript structure for publication. It will then be forwarded to the experts in the appropriate area for peer review. Two to three anonymous reviewers will be assigned for one manuscript. These reviewers provide feedback and constructive comments to the editors and the authors. The peer-review process will take 4 to 6 weeks and the time taken from submission to online publication will take about 12 weeks.
NRJ follows a double blinded peer review process. First review by the editors will be done within 10 days of submission, and authors will be informed about rejection or acceptance for review. Editors will send the article to two reviewers. The review is to be done within 3 weeks with turnaround time on final decision to be 4 to 6 weeks maximum.
Decisions: An editor will take the final decision on including a submission for publication. An original, justified and time-relevant article will be accepted. The scientific content and scientific validity make the most important factor for acceptance. It is important for NRJ to know what new scientific theory or fact has been proven by a given new manuscript and NRJ will focus on this at the time of acceptance. The authors will be informed about their manuscript via email. The authors will receive the decision on their manuscript as: accepted for publication, declined for publication, resubmission with minor changes or resubmission with major changes.
Advertising Policy
NRJ has a policy of one advertisement per journal issue.
