Abstract
Honey is a common household product with many medicinal uses described in traditional medicine. Modern system
of medicine is also finding the honey efficacious in various medical and surgical conditions. Antimicrobial,
antioxidant and wound healing properties of honey are being evaluated with successful outcome. Prevention and
treatment of various infections due to a wide variety of organisms and promoting surgical wound healing are some
of the areas where honey is making its mark.
