ABOUT THE JOURNAL

The Europasian Journal of Medical Sciences (EJMS) is a Peer-Reviewed, Indexed, Open-Accessed Medical Journal which is published biannually online as well as in print version. It is an official publication of the Nirvana Psychosocial Care Center & Research Institute. The NPSCC Research Institute was established in 2016 with the sole motive of conducting innovative research, promoting quality publication and providing good psychosocial well-being of the community. Hence, the NPSCC Research Institute has started this Journal to encourage innovative research in the field of medicine and health allied sciences. We are committed to meeting and upholding standards of ethical behavior at all stages of the publication process. The EJMS aims to publish original research work that contributes significantly to enhance scientific knowledge via research and publication. The journal does not charge for submission, processing of the manuscript, and even for the online publication. However, a minimum amount will be charged for the author who needs a hard copy of the Journal.

Scope and Field of the Journal

The target readers of the journal are medical/clinical researchers and medical practitioners of all specialties and allied disciplines, such as medicine, nursing, public health, physiotherapy, optometry, biotechnology, alternative systems of medicine, etc. We publish original, plagiarism-free and innovative research articles related to Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Pharmacy & Pharmaceutics, Nursing & Midwifery, Community Medicine and Public Health.

Editorial Policies

Any manuscript submitted to the Europasian Journal of Medical Sciences (EJMS) must be plagiarism free and not be published in any journal, or under consideration of publication in any other journal or other citable forms. Authors are required to ensure that no material submitted as part of a manuscript infringes existing copyrights or the rights of a third party.

Peer-Review Policies

The EJMS follows the double-blind peer-review process where the identity of the author kept secret from the editor and vice-versa; to avoid the personal bias during the peer-review process. We make every effort to reach an initial decision within two to four weeks of submission, depending on the type and clarity of research work, research methodology used, availability of reviewer, etc. All submitted manuscripts are peer-reviewed to ensure editorial appropriateness and technical correctness. Every article after the successful submission, first evaluated by the editor-in-chief and check the overall quality, and appropriateness of the manuscripts. If the manuscript is found appropriate then the editor-in-chief will assign an editor from the editorial board who will review the manuscript for the extent of plagiarism and give the editorial feedback within 2-3 days of the manuscript submission and sent it back to the author for the revision within one week time. The revised manuscript is then forwarded for the further peer-review process. Then, the editor will assign at least three reviewers (two national and one international) for their review and feedback. All the authors are asked to provide names and contact details of two reviewers of the related field expert; however, the final selection of reviewers is the responsibility of the assigned editor for the specific manuscript submitted. Based on the review process, the editorial-board can reject, accepts or accept after revisions of the manuscript. Our editorial team will occasionally seek advice outside standard peer review, for example, on submissions with serious ethical, security, biosecurity, or societal implications. We may consult experts and the academic editor before deciding on appropriate actions, including but not limited to: recruiting reviewers with specific expertise, assessment by additional editors, and declining to further consider a submission.

Ethical Guidelines

A statement to ethical approval must be stated in the methods section of the manuscript, including the name of the body from which approval has been provided, with a reference number where appropriate. Informed consent must also be documented. For all articles that include information or clinical photographs relating to individual patients, written and signed consent from each patient to publish must also be made available if requested by the editorial board. The involvement of scientific (medical) writers or anyone else who assisted with the preparation of the manuscript content should be acknowledged, along with their source of funding. EJMS requires authors to declare any competing financial or other interest in relation to their work.

The EJMS is committed to meeting and upholding standards of ethical behavior at all stages of the publication process. We follow closely the industry associations, such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), that set standards and provide guidelines for best practices in order to meet these requirements.
